There are a few different ways to get here. While driving straight from the states or other parts of the province is a long drive, it will by far be one of the most scenic trips you will take. You will enjoy the drive! However you can get here quickly via one of these 2 options. If renting a car is in yours plans, you will want to check into option 2. Rental sleds are scarce, so if you have trouble locating a rental sled in Stewart/Hyder, look into option 2, as there are retal places within the Terrace Area.

The Quickest Ways to get here!

OPTION 1. Fly from Ketchikan International Airport (KTN) into Hyder. - Less than 1 hour!

  • Catch a ride on a float plane with Taquan Air. www.taquanair.com
  • Flights with Taquan Depart Ketchikan as follows. Monday, Thursday at 10:30 am, Arrive in Hyder at 11:25 am.
  • Flights with Taquan Depart Hyder as follows. Monday, Thursday at 11:35 am, Arrive in Ketchikan at 12:30 pm.
  • Be sure to check the Taquan Air website for changes or updates on trip dates/times!
  • Make plans for someone to meet you when you arrive (IE. The place you stay). No car rentals here...




    OPTION 2. Fly into Terrace Airport (YXT) then Drive. - Only a 3 1/2 hour drive!
  • Rent a car in Terrace. Rents sleds in this area as well!
  • Get on the road!
